The Ditch

Areka is the result of the creative collaboration of about twenty young artists. The mould of traditional Basque culture (bertsolaritza) comes together with visual experimentation, being inspired by a bertso created by Andoni Egaña specifically for this project. All of the creators worked collaboratively, sharing both work techniques and practices and experiences, thus enabling mutual learning. For this reason, the film is visually very consistent.
