Mulu, a small prehistoric boy who is part of a clan of hunters, disagrees with the cruel practices of his own. He takes refuge in a cave, where a bear becomes his best friend. Together, they take great pleasure in making paintings. On a stormy night, a fiery serpent enters the cave and destroys everything in its path.
