Currently in his fifties, Aaron, who was a sperm donor in his youth, seeing it solely as a means to supplement his income, leads a carefree life in Seattle until he receives some unanticipated news: several of his sixty-four at minimum biological children wish to meet him, driven not by some pressure dictated by their genes, but by simple human curiosity and, most importantly, a profound need for understanding one's self and a longing for belonging. What follows is an utterly real and, at the same time, utterly outrageous -as well as delightful- story of family madness, love, tenderness, and heartfelt emotion, full of twists that rival even the most ingenious fiction. Most crucial of all, however, are the questions raised by the film in a wisely lighthearted tone; what truly makes a family, and what is its significance in the 21st century - or what has it been all along.
