The Last Prometheus of Donbas

Drawing a parallel between one of the most significant ancient Greek myths and the earthly reality of one of the most afflicted regions of the planet, an electrifying documentary becomes a chronicle of resistance from the front line of war. In the small Ukrainian town of Kurakhove, engineers and workers at a power plant struggle to keep it running in the aftermath of the Russian invasion and under the constant threat of bombardment. Placing us in the line of fire, where the heart of an entire society beats, the director’s camera captures the inevitable fall of the power station not as a piece of military news, but as the recording of an isoelectric line – exhausted, yet steadfastly present.
