Bacewicz x Bomsori

An outstanding South Korean violinist, Bomsori Kim, is preparing to perform Grażyna Bacewicz’s ‘Polish Rhapsody’ for violin and orchestra. The piece had its premiere in 1950, when it was played by the composer herself. Seventy-five years later, it returns to the stage in Kim’s interpretation, revealing the talent of one of the most renowned Polish composers of the 20th century – the woman who made her mark in the world of classical music dominated by men. Kim discovers Grażyna Bacewicz’s distinctive style in the score and reflections on her creative work in the letters to her loved ones. Each rehearsal becomes another utterance in the dialogue between the violinist and the composer.
