The 1982 World Cup in Spain marked the Polish national team’s last success at an international football tournament. For a moment, people forgot that the backdrop to this sporting spectacle included harsh martial law regulations, censorship, the military on the streets and prisons filled with opposition activists. Michał Bielawski’s film is a documentary account of sports and politics under martial law.
