Frog

In Korea, which boils like midday even at night, frogs that cannot overcome the heat dry up on the road. Yeonho's pub is always cool and prosperous, but Yeonho is just tired. A frog’s cry recalls Geum-i — the lover she couldn't hold, who was smiling once, then dried into despair and disappeared. One day, at the end of the road he walked on the dead frogs, Yeonho finds melted Geum-i. The bone melts in the heat and it is mellow like seaweed. Yet Yeonho knows, unmistakably, that it is her.
