A group of young, mischievous travelers is stranded on an island in the Pacific off Colombia, where they encounter a group of natives who are kind enough to help and join the celebration of rituals. Sooner rather than later, they realize the reasons for such an evil presence that has remained hidden from humanity for centuries, and there they make the next sacrifices. The most ambitious sci-fi film ever made in Spanish (both style and budget-wise), Pacifico is an elevated creature feature by Gonzalo Gutierrez, a renowned visual effects artist in Latin America known for his bold style, and this is evident here, as he pays a faithful homage to Ridley Scott's Alien franchise. The film suggests the earth is indeed an old planet, and what we perceive as an Alien culture may in fact be something that's been with us for ages.
