I’m Painting a Self-portrait, but All I See Is My Sister’s Face

Do you remember the Silent Twins? It seems that their "godmothers" were born in pre-war Poland. The fates of visual artists Alice and Bożena Wahl were much less dramatic, but marked by an equally radical sense of closeness, which alternately gave strength and took away oxygen. At least, that's according to an animated documentary inspired by excerpts from Alice's Diaries. In just an eleven-minute film, the director is able to simultaneously intrigue the fate of the sisters, pay tribute to their work and emphasize the beauty of the diaries, which they capture with eloquence and a self-ironic sense of humor.
