The Book of Flowers
- Polish (język polski, polszczyzna)
- Poland
- 10 min
A speculative story in which Agnieszka Polska presents an alternative story of the relationship between people and flowers and their common evolution. In the distant past, both species were connected by an intimate relationship – people acted as the main pollinators of flowers much larger than them. What brought us to the point where we are today? Why did the flowers become so small, and people reproduce without their participation? The Film combines digital animations generated by AI with analog images shot on 16mm tape. Intertwining elements of documentary and science fiction, the artist explores the concept of the "environment" as an organic and social construct at the same time.
