The House That Shadows Built

In Poland in the 1990s. and 2,000. the images created by Hollywood functioned not as a fantasy, but as a goal for which the young generation aspired. Zuza Banasińska returns to the landscapes from which these paintings originate: film sets in California, Iceland and Australia, mines turned into amusement parks and industrial and military wastelands. This journey is accompanied by a seemingly limitless green screen, inviting you to confront the mechanisms of your own imagination. The Film weaves this journey with the story of Olga Petrova-an actress who in the first decades of Hollywood founded her own film studio and recreated her identity.
