The film evokes a voyage through space and time to reopen the past and denounce the historical violence inflicted upon women figured as Sibyls and their territory: Cumae and Naples. Narrated by founder Lina Mangiacapre, the film stages a séance in which women gather, dance, and move across the volcanic landscape of the Phlegraean Fields. Through gestures and embodied performance, they summon the buried voices of women from history and myth. Cumae becomes a threshold space where past and present intersect, and where forgotten stories resurface from stone, fire, water, and earth. Central to the work is Le Nemesiache’s concept of psicofavola (psycho-fable), a feminist practice that fuses myth, body, and landscape to “make real” another historical dimension. By reclaiming both women’s bodies and the “body-territory” of their city, Le Sibille proposes a re-appropriation of place and imagination, envisioning a reality beyond patriarchal and capitalist domination.
