Aguilar Film Festival

Aguilar Film Festivals is one of the most prestigious and distinguished short film festivals in Spain, with more than 30 editions behind it, and is held every December in the town of Aguilar de Campoo (Palencia). It is characterized by the search for new cinematographic forms, new stories and new talents from all corners of the world. It is also a pioneer festival when it comes to offering all the short films in the International Competition an economic rate for their selection. In addition to the competitive sections, retrospectives and special sessions that make up its film programming (including MiniAguilar, a festival within the festival aimed at Young Audiences), the festival organizes various industry activities and awards two annual honorary awards to two respected personalities from the Spanish cinema. Among the winners of this award are Ernesto Alterio, Javier Fesser, Gracia Querejeta, Santiago Segura and Pedro Almodóvar. Aguilar Film Festival also collaborates with the Spanish Film Academy, being one of the qualifying festivals for the Goya Awards.
