Americana Film Fest is devoted to recent independent cinema from North America: its selection is limited to narrative features, documentaries and short films from the United States, Canada and Mexico that have not screened in Barcelona before. The non-profit festival was founded in 2014 and is based at La Casa del Cine; screenings take place at Cinemes Girona, Zumzeig, Cines Texas, Mooby Aribau and the Filmoteca de Catalunya, and a selection travels to other towns under the name Route 66.

The programme is built around sections such as TOPS, with acclaimed festival titles, NEXT, with emerging directors, and Americana DOCS, alongside shorts and a retrospective. Awards include a critics' prize from the Catalan critics' association ACCEC, a young jury prize and audience awards. The dates of the 2027 edition are 9–14 March 2027.
