Anilogue International Animation Festival presents a week of animation in Budapest, with part of the programme also screened in Vienna. Organised by SzimplaFilm, it combines international competitions with feature premieres, talks and masterclasses. Its calls cover short animated films, extra short films under two minutes, animated features, immersive animation, applied animation such as music videos and commercials, and short films for children, shown in separate screenings for ages 6+, 9+ and 12+ that include weekday morning sessions for school groups.

An international jury gives the Best of Anilogue Award in the short film competition, and the audience votes for the Audience Award. Beyond the competitions, New Hungarian Animation presents recent work by Hungarian directors, and Animated Night is a late-night run of independent animation in several blocks. The dates for the 2026 edition, the 23rd, are 25–29 March 2026, with venues including the Uránia National Film Palace in Budapest and Top Kino in Vienna.

Films must correspond to the ASIFA definition of animation; works mixing animation with live action are accepted. Each film is submitted in one category only; the selection committee appointed by SzimplaFilm decides the final category. Competitions (call for the 2027 edition): International Competition of Short Animated Film (under 20 min); Short Animated Films for Children (under 20 min); Extra Short Animated Film (European films under 2 min); Feature Length Animated Film (over 60 min, Hungarian premiere at the festival required); Immersive / VR animation (linear and non-linear projects); Applied Animation (music videos, commercials and other applied work, regardless of origin, length or production date). Except for applied animation, films must be completed after 1 January 2025. Films submitted to previous editions are not eligible. Entries are made via FilmFreeway with a preview link and entry form. Selected films are screened in the original language version with English subtitles; accepted formats are DCP, 35 mm, Blu-ray and MP4. Participants pay transport and customs costs; the festival covers storage and insurance of selected copies. Short films are screened at most six times, features at most four times.
