Best Austrian Animation Festival

The very successful event is one of the most important and most successful projects of ASIFA Austria. This is the most popular main festival and big party for animation (animated film, computer animation, experimental animation) "from Austria" - (for filmmakers living or born in Austria). Usually most filmmakers come to present their films personally, and the interest of the audience is huge. We started as "One Day Animation Festival" in 2005, - also to indicate the low budget situation - later were able to enlarge to the "2 Days Animation Festival", but since 2021 we officially use the new name "BEST AUSTRIAN ANIMATION FESTIVAL". Main attraction since now 11 years is the BEST AUSTRIAN ANIMATION competition, but there are also "Meet the Artists"-talks and additional screenings. At the closing ceremony, where the audience can also enjoy live performances, we celebrate the winners over a glas of prosecco and the party might go on afterwards. The "2020 edition" had to be online and finally took place in January 2021, We really hope and expect to have a "real festival" again in November 2021, but we are prepared to go online in the worst case.
