Bueu International Film Festival

FICBUEU, the Bueu International Film Festival, is a short film competition in Bueu, Galicia, held at the town's Centro Social do Mar. The festival dates back to 2008; since 2016 it has been organised by the Asociación FICBUEU, which also runs a creative residency and publishes the Cadernos FICBUEU monographs. The competition is open to shorts of any genre and nationality up to 30 minutes, completed in the previous two years. Alongside the Official Section, the programme includes Descubertas, a section for risk-taking and experimental work; GZ_00, a competition for contemporary Galician cinema; strands for international and Galician film schools; the Xornadas Cinematográficas, a seminar of round tables and master classes; and MiniFIC, screenings and activities for schools and families.

The dates for the 19th edition are 4–19 September 2026, with 28 short films in the Official Section.
