Cactus International Children's and Youth Film Festival
The Cactus International Children's and Youth Film Festival presents short and feature films, fiction and non-fiction, made for audiences from early childhood to young adulthood. It takes place in Aosta, in the Aosta Valley, where open-air screenings in Piazza Chanoux sit alongside workshops, meetings with authors, concerts and family activities. The festival is organised by Long Neck Doc ETS, a cultural association founded in Aosta in 2016, and is a member of the European Children's Film Association (ECFA).
Short films compete in age groups from 3+ to 15+, next to a feature competition. Prizes come from an international jury of film professionals and from a school jury of students taking part in Cactus Edu, the organiser's film education project for schools across Italy; the ECFA Short Film Award goes to a European short, and the audience gives its own award. The Cactus Industry Forum adds masterclasses, panels and networking for film and media professionals. The 2027 edition takes place on 19–28 August 2027 in Aosta.
