Cinecity – The Brighton Film Festival presents world cinema every November in Brighton and the surrounding area. Founded in 2003 by Tim Brown and Frank Gray, it combines premieres and previews of international and British films with artists’ cinema and installations, archive treasures, live soundtracks, talks and special events, and explores where film meets music, visual art, photography and digital culture. A strand of regional talent runs alongside the main programme: Cinecity Open and New Voices, for filmmakers aged 25 and under, show short films selected from open submissions by filmmakers from Brighton & Hove, East and West Sussex, while a features category accepts UK and international films. Outside the festival, Cinecity curates the film programme of the annual Brighton Festival in May.

The 24th edition runs 6–15 November 2026 at venues including the Duke of York’s, Dukes at Komedia, Lewes Depot, Fabrica and the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts.
