Ciudad del Este Independent Film Festival shows national and international independent films in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay, and lists the Teatro Municipal Ciudad del Este as its venue. Its competition spans fiction, experimental and documentary works in both feature and short length, student features and shorts, short animation, music videos and AI films; shorts and music videos run up to 30 minutes, and films are shown in their original language or with English or Spanish subtitles. An international jury of film professionals selects the programme.

The festival dates back to 2016, when the first edition ran on 16–19 September. The 11th edition took place on 16–19 September 2026.

Festival rules

Short films and music videos may run up to 30 minutes including credits; feature films run longer than 31 minutes. Films must be presented in their original language or subtitled in English or Spanish. Submissions are made as digital files through the festival's accounts on submission platforms; there is no limit on the number of entries per director or producer, and a submitted film cannot be withdrawn. The festival sets the order and date of screenings and may show entries out of competition. No screening fees are paid. Selection is made by an international jury of film professionals, and its decision is final.
