Frameline: The San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival

Frameline presents international LGBTQ+ cinema in the San Francisco Bay Area. Founded in 1977, the festival screens narrative features, documentaries and shorts by and about queer and trans communities, alongside filmmaker appearances, industry panels and networking events. Its juried and audience awards recognise films across several formats. The organising institution also supports artists through grants, film distribution and restoration. Frameline51 is the 2027 edition, with an in-person programme from 16 to 26 June at venues in San Francisco, Berkeley and Oakland.
