Founded in 1971 by Claudio Gubitosi, the Giffoni Film Festival is an annual international festival dedicated to cinema for children and young people in Giffoni Valle Piana, Campania, Italy. Young audiences form the core of the event: children and teenagers participate as jurors in age-based competitive sections, evaluating feature films, short films and documentaries and assigning the Gryphon Awards. The programme also includes premieres, meetings with filmmakers and guests, workshops and cultural activities. The 57th edition is dated 16–24 July 2027, continuing Giffoni’s focus on youth participation, cinema and dialogue between generations.
