Held in Nyon, Switzerland, Visions du Réel is an annual festival devoted to documentary and other forms of non-fiction filmmaking. Since its foundation in 1969, it has developed from the former Nyon International Documentary Film Festival into a recognised international platform for new work, discovery, and professional exchange. Its 57th edition, dated 17–26 April 2026, presents 164 films selected from 3,700 submissions, with 83 world premieres, and includes competitions, special guests, thematic strands, and the VdR–Industry programme.
