Golden Kuker – Sofia is an animation-only festival named after Bulgarian animator Proyko Proykov. First held in October 2010 in Sofia, it is presented by its organisers as the first animation festival launched in Bulgaria in the 21st century. Animart studio and the Bulgarian Association of Independent Cartoon Animation Artists (BAICAA) run it, with animator Nadezhda Slavova as festival director.

The competition covers one-minute films, shorts, features, student and children’s films, TV episodes, music videos and advertisements, with a separate eco film prize and the Golden Kuker as grand prize. Master classes, workshops, exhibitions and the travelling “Golden Kuker on the road” screenings extend the programme across Bulgaria. The festival is held every spring in May; the 18th edition is dated 12–16 May 2027, with Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” listed as its venue.
