2026 competition regulations — 33rd International Film Festival Etiuda&Anima, Kraków, 26–31 October 2026. The 2026 submission period is closed. Eligibility and submission ETIUDA: student etudes and graduation films, excluding animation, made at film or art schools as part of their educational programme in 2024–2026; maximum running time 30 minutes. Submit an MP4/MOV preview file or viewing link. Entries use FilmFreeway or the festival’s online entry form. ANIMA: professional, independent and student animated films made in 2024–2026; maximum 30 minutes. Submit an MP4/MOV preview file or viewing link through the festival’s online entry form. ANIMA.PL: professional, independent and student Polish animated films made in 2024–2026; maximum 30 minutes. Polish eligibility includes production in Poland or work by Polish filmmakers abroad with Polish producer co-production participation. Entries use the festival’s online entry form. For all three competitions, the submission period is 20 January–31 May 2026, with no entry fee. An online entry form is mandatory. Public or private viewing links may have a password but must have no time or territorial restrictions. Selection and delivery The Artistic Director decides admission after the selection committee’s work. Notification is due by 20 August 2026 for ETIUDA and 17 August 2026 for ANIMA and ANIMA.PL. ETIUDA and ANIMA notifications use email and the festival website. Their regulations allow a selected film to be withdrawn after official confirmation by its submitter, treat submission as confirmation, retain submitted competition copies in the festival archive, and reserve selection for competitive or non-competitive sections. Selected filmmakers supply screening copies at their own expense by 7 September 2026: DCP or a downloadable digital file in DCP, MOV or MP4 format. Failure to deliver by the deadline leads to exclusion. ETIUDA and ANIMA also require an English synopsis and dialogue list, publicity materials and film stills, and the director’s biography and photograph by that date. Jury and awards International juries assess the films primarily on artistic merit under jury procedure rules established with festival management; a festival-appointed secretary assists. For ANIMA.PL, management appoints the jury chair from the jurors and the chair establishes procedures with the other jurors and management. Uncollected prizes are posted or otherwise delivered within one month of the festival’s end. Screening rights and publicity The festival undertakes to respect rights relating to exploitation of accepted films. Submission authorises three festival screenings. Awardwinning films may also screen in Travelling Etiuda&Anima 2026 in Poland and abroad; ANIMA.PL permission additionally covers the Polish School of Animation – Next Generations programme. Submission authorises free use of supplied promotional materials and a trailer or film excerpt of up to two minutes in festival promotion. Transport, return and liability The submitter pays delivery and transport costs. For ETIUDA and ANIMA, the submitter also handles customs outside Poland and must follow customs rules; non-EU shipments require a pro forma invoice for no more than EUR 15 and a declaration that the shipment is for cultural purposes and has no commercial value. Screening DCP copies are returned at the organiser’s expense within four weeks after the festival to the supplied address. Changes to the return address must reach the festival at least one week before its opening. The organiser is not responsible for damage resulting from an incorrect address, undertakes to return copies in a condition consistent with normal use, and accepts financial responsibility during the event up to the value declared on the entry form.
