The International Youth Film Festival "Light to the World" (Svet Miru) is a competition for young filmmakers aged 18 to 35 and for adults who make films for children, with separate nominations for Orthodox and patriotic films. It was founded in 2011 by the Rybinsk Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church; the co-founders are the film company Vremya Kino, the non-profit organisation Svet Miru Film Festival and the educational project "Berega". The festival is held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. Its competition covers fiction, non-fiction, animation, social videos, music videos, TV reports and experimental work, mostly up to 30 minutes.

The final week moves from town to town across the Yaroslavl Region, with competition screenings, discussions with the authors and excursions in places such as Yaroslavl, Rybinsk, Uglich, Tutaev and Myshkin. Selected films are later screened in small towns and villages of the region and used in educational programmes for schools. The dates for the 2027 edition are 8–12 September 2027.

Adults: authors of any age who make films for children with children as the main characters, Orthodox films (nomination "Light to the World") or patriotic films (nomination "Patriotic Film"). A nomination opens when enough entries are received. Competition films run up to 30 minutes; a full-length film up to 1 hour 30 minutes. Films must be recent (for the 2026 edition, made in January 2024 or later). The working language is Russian: foreign-language films need Russian subtitles or simultaneous translation; English subtitles are accepted as an exception. One film per author in each nomination; a studio may enter several films by different directors. Participation is free. Entries are accepted through the festival website and submission platforms (FilmFreeway, Festagent, Festhome and others). A selection committee chooses the finalists, whose authors are invited to the final in the Yaroslavl Region. Travel is paid by participants; accommodation, meals and the cultural programme are covered by the organisers when funding allows.
