Rencontres Internationales Sciences & Cinéma (RISC) sets films in dialogue with scientific research in Marseille. Organised by the Polly Maggoo association since its first edition in 2006, the festival selects documentary, fiction, animation, experimental and video works from any country whose subject or approach engages with a field of research, from physics and medicine to history, anthropology and urban studies. Reportage and institutional films are excluded. Screenings bring filmmakers, researchers and audiences together for discussion, and the programme includes sessions for schoolchildren; venues include Marseille cinemas, the Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle and Aix-Marseille Université.

Three competitions — feature films of 60 minutes and longer, short films of 10 to 59 minutes and very short films under 10 minutes — each have a jury award, alongside a young audience award and an audience award. The dates for the 17th edition are 8–12 December 2026.
