ALCINE – Festival de Cine de Alcalá de Henares

ALCINE is a short film festival in Alcalá de Henares, the UNESCO World Heritage city near Madrid, organised by the city council of Alcalá de Henares together with the Community of Madrid. It dates back to 1970 and an amateur film competition held during the town's fairs; the Cine-Club Nebrija then took it over, and over the following decades it grew into a professional festival devoted to the short form. Its two competitions are the National Short Film Competition for Spanish productions and the European Short Film Competition, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences lists ALCINE among the qualifying festivals for the Oscar short film categories. Around the competitions the festival runs ALCINE Pro industry meetings, education programmes for schools, exhibitions, publications and concerts, with the Teatro Salón Cervantes as its main screening venue.

The dates for the 55th edition are 5–15 November 2026.
