MUMIA – Mostra Udigrudi Mundial de Animação is an animation showcase in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, curated by its director Sávio Leite. The first edition took place in 2003. The call is open to Brazilian and international animated films, and the regulations rule out a selection process: entries are only disqualified if they are not animation or arrive in the wrong format. The programme combines short films with a few animated features, and prizes go to three works in each of three competitions – Minas Gerais, Brazilian and international – with possible honourable mentions. Some of the Brazilian films later screen in extension programmes in other towns of Minas Gerais and in Vigevano, Italy.

The 23rd edition runs 2–12 December 2025 with 204 films from 13 countries, screened free of charge at venues including Cine Humberto Mauro and the Museu da Imagem e do Som de Belo Horizonte.

Festival rules

Open to Brazilian and international animated films; the 24th edition accepts films completed from 2016 onwards. Each participant may enter any number of titles, each with its own entry. Entry is made through the online form linked from the festival blog, and the film file (MP4, H264 codec, up to 40 Mbps, AAC or DTS audio) is sent by a file transfer service to the submissions email, or on DVD by post. Stills of the film must be sent with the entry; foreign films with dialogue must include a dialogue list. There is no selection: entries are disqualified only if the festival directors consider them not to be animation, if the file does not meet the specifications, or if a required dialogue list is missing. Entries are not confirmed. Submitted copies join the festival archive and may be used for non-commercial cultural screenings in Brazil and abroad with the filmmakers' authorisation; up to 30 seconds may be used for promotion. For the 24th edition (December 2026), entries are accepted from 1 March to 31 May 2026.
