Tindirindis is an international animation festival in Vilnius devoted to non-commercial, artistic animation and to new Lithuanian work: alongside the international selection, it screens every new Lithuanian animated film and gives a separate Grand Prix for Lithuanian film. Founded in 2003, it is organised by the Vilanima film studio, the public institution Filmų štrichai and ASIFA Lithuania, the national branch of ASIFA.

Competition programmes cover short and feature-length films, work for children and for adults, debut and student films, abstract experimental animation and music videos, judged by an international jury, a children's jury and the audience. Films made by children and amateurs run in a separate programme. Beyond the competition, the festival presents retrospectives of animation masters, workshops and master classes. After the Vilnius screenings, the programmes travel to other Lithuanian towns, including Kaunas, Klaipėda, Panevėžys and Šiauliai. The 23rd edition takes place in November and December 2026.

Festival rules

Competition is open to professional animated films made in any technique, frame-by-frame or computer-made; films awarded at other festivals are eligible. Each edition sets a completion-date limit (for 2026: films finished after 1 January 2023). Categories: short films; feature-length films (over 52 minutes); debut films (the studio must confirm it is the director's first film); student films; informational and feature films; didactic and educational films; TV animation series; abstract experimental films; music clips; films made by children; films made by amateurs. Films made in Lithuania compete in these categories and are also considered for the best Lithuanian film. Films must be dubbed or subtitled in English. Submission is online, by a password-protected download link or WeTransfer, or through Festhome. The entry form, photos of the authors, three stills, biographies and filmographies, a statement on authors' rights and dialogue lists are sent by email. There is no entry fee. A five-member selection committee chooses the programme, and its decisions are final. Films not selected for competition may be shown in the non-competitive programme. Films by children and amateurs are shown in a separate programme.
