Athens Digital Arts Festival (ADAF) presents contemporary digital art in twelve categories: video art, animation, web art, digital image, interactive installations, games, VR/AR/XR, performances, talks, workshops, music and ADAF Kids. It began in 2005 as the Athens Video Art Festival and has since widened its scope from screen-based work to the meeting point of art, technology and science. The festival takes place each spring in the historic centre of Athens, with every edition built around its own theme, and since 2019 it also runs the online platform ADAF ONLINE. The organiser is Multitrab Productions, a non-profit company in Athens that runs related digital-culture projects throughout the year.

The dates for the 2026 edition, themed “Metamorphosis”, are 23–26 April 2026, at Technopolis City of Athens.

Festival rules

No entry fee. Each work is submitted through the online application form of its category; artists may apply in several categories, with up to four works per category (in Digital Image a collection of up to five works under one title counts as one application). Video art and animation must not exceed 30 minutes. Online entries are video files up to 2 GB in .avi, MPEG or .mov; postal entries are on DVD (PAL). Each application includes three high-resolution stills and any technical documents needed; incomplete applications are not accepted. For installations, performances, VR projects, ADAF Kids and web art, designs of works not yet realised are eligible if the work can be finished two months before the festival. Submitted files are not returned and stay in the festival archive; submitted works, selected or not, may be included in compilations that present the festival internationally. A submission cannot be withdrawn. Curators may move an application to another category. Shortlisted artists are contacted by email by the category curators; others are not notified individually.
