On the Edge. West (Kray Sveta. Zapad) is an international film festival in Kaliningrad, Russia, built around teenagers and the experience of growing up. Its main programme is judged by two juries: one of local school students chosen through a creative competition, and one of Kaliningrad school teachers. The Best Film award needs a joint decision of both juries, and viewers choose an Audience Choice Award from any programme. Screenings are free.

Year-round workshops are a central part of the festival: children and teenagers of the Kaliningrad region study animation, documentary and fiction filmmaking and show their work on the festival screen. The festival is organised by the non-profit Festival Direction and was first held in 2019. The last edition, the third, took place on 1–7 May 2022 at the Zarya cinema and included a retrospective of Sergei Solovyov's films presented with the State Tretyakov Gallery.

Awards and prizes

The main programme is judged by a Teenage Jury of local school students and a Teachers' Jury of Kaliningrad teachers. Each jury gives two awards: one in a set category (in 2022, "A Story About Me" for the Teenage Jury and "Hero" for the Teachers' Jury) and one whose title the jury chooses. The Best Film award is given by a joint decision of both juries. The Audience Choice Award is decided by viewers' vote and is open to films from any programme of the festival.
