Short Film Days International Festival

Short Film Days grows out of the All-Russian Short Film Day, first held in Russia in 2014 and timed to 21 December, the shortest day of the year. Since 2022 the project has run as an international festival in Moscow, organised by the MovieStart Production Centre. The competition takes Russian and international short films up to 30 minutes in four categories: fiction, documentary, animation and films made with neural networks. Alongside the main jury, a separate TikTok Generation Jury of young cultural figures assesses the fiction competition.

The Echo programme then takes the selection to non-commercial screenings at more than 700 venues in Russian regions and abroad, and the business programme includes pitching sessions for film start-ups and microdramas. The 12th edition takes place in Moscow on 14–21 December 2025, at Gorky Film Studio and the ISI Art Centre, with Echo screenings until 31 March 2026.
