One Hour International Short Film Festival
The One Hour International Short Film Festival (OHISFF) is a single screening of about an hour of short films, animations and video works from many countries, curated by the artist Sonja van Kerkhoff. Each edition runs alongside an exhibition she curates, and the screening includes time for questions and comments from the audience.
The festival dates back to 28 October 2018, when the first edition opened at NorthArt in Northcote, Auckland, as part of the exhibition The Poetic Condition. The 2nd edition is at artHAUS in Ōrākei, Auckland, on 23 March 2021, and the 3rd at Papakura Art Gallery, Auckland, on 5 March 2022, with 27 films from 18 countries and an additional Zoom screening. The Auckland editions present New Zealand premieres. The 4th edition, on 18 September 2026 at Quartair gallery in The Hague, the Netherlands, shows 20 films from 9 countries.
