Deauville American Film Festival
Festival du cinéma américain de Deauville
The Deauville American Film Festival is devoted to American cinema, from major Hollywood productions to independent films, and is open to the general public. Lionel Chouchan and André Halimi created it in 1975, with the support of Michel d’Ornano, then mayor of Deauville, and Lucien Barrière. The City of Deauville co-organizes the festival with Hopscotch Cinéma, which provides artistic direction, and the C.I.D. Screenings take place at the Centre International de Deauville, the Cinéma du Casino Barrière and the Cinéma le Morny.
The Competition is reserved for American independent features, alongside premieres, tributes and the American Doc Stories section. Submitted films are features or documentaries of at least 75 minutes; short films are not screened. The D’Ornano-Valenti Prize honours a first French film. The dates for the 2026 edition, the 52nd, are 4–13 September 2026.
