The Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) is devoted to Mexican cinema: its four competitive sections — the Michoacán Section, Mexican Short Film, Mexican Documentary and Mexican Feature Film — accept only works directed by Mexican citizens or legal residents of Mexico. Winners receive the Ojo, a sculpture designed for the festival by the Michoacán artist Javier Marín, and the Ojo awards for fiction, animated and documentary short films are on the Academy's list of qualifying festival awards for the Short Films categories. The festival also runs a short screenplay contest for writers from Michoacán.

FICM was launched in 2003 in Morelia, the capital of Michoacán, and is organised by a non-profit civil association. Since its beginning it has partnered with the Critics' Week of the Cannes Film Festival, presenting a selection of its films each year. The programme adds Mexican and international premieres, retrospectives and Impulso Morelia, a showcase of Mexican feature films in post-production for industry professionals. The 24th edition runs 16–25 October 2026 in Morelia.
