My First Film Festival

Audience voting and age-specific programmes shape My First Film Festival, an international festival for children aged 3 to 12 in Barcelona, Madrid and other Spanish towns. Organised by Associació Cultural MODIband, it presents short and feature films from around the world, with a strong emphasis on animation. Its competitions sit alongside family filmmaking workshops, conversations with guest filmmakers and school screenings supported by teaching materials.

The professional programme includes masterclasses, debates, filmmakers’ meetings and VIVABOOK Lab, a writing laboratory. The festival also considers films created for wider audiences when they suit younger viewers, with introductions and discussions providing context. The dates for the 19th edition in Barcelona and Madrid are 7–22 November 2026.
