Ankara Film Festival

Ankara Film Festival combines national competitions for feature films, documentaries and shorts with screenings of international cinema in Turkey’s capital. Its support for new Turkish filmmakers extends across fiction, documentary, experimental film and animation. The programme also includes discussions, workshops and exhibitions connecting cinema with other arts. The festival traces its beginnings to the Ankara Film Şenliği in 1988 and is organised by the World Mass Media Research Foundation.

The 37th edition dates are 12–20 November 2026, with screenings at Kızılay Büyülü Fener Cinema in Ankara. Its national feature competition presents awards in thirteen categories, alongside separate documentary and short-film competitions.
