24FRAME Future Film Fest

24FRAME Future Film Fest explores animation alongside visual effects, gaming and immersive media in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. Known previously as Future Film Festival, it dates back to 1999 and uses the 24Frame name from 2024. Its programme includes international animated features, shorts and series, a New Frontiers competition for AR, VR and 360-degree works, and workshops and talks with filmmakers.

The 25th edition spans Bologna, 9–13 April 2025, and a separate Modena programme, 17–19 October 2025. Following the end of Rete Doc’s production partnership, the festival seeks new investors and strategic partners; its March 2026 announcement leaves the next edition unconfirmed. Related activities include Sunday Anime screenings, Future Film Kids and animation training.
