Desert Dust Cinema presents international short films in the former gas station area of Lobo, a West Texas ghost town. Its programme centres on experimental work, bringing together animation, stop motion, music videos and motion graphics. Screenings use an open-air or indoor setting according to the weather, and admission is free.
The nonprofit festival is organised by members of the Lobo community. Experimental live music accompanies the screenings around the former motel’s pool. Its documented editions begin in 2011; the last documented edition takes place on 31 August–2 September 2018.
