Pia Film Festival (PFF) began in 1977 and supports emerging filmmaking talent in Japan. Its main programme, the PFF Award, is a competition for self-produced films. The festival screens the selected works alongside invited films and special programmes from Japan and abroad.
The 48th edition takes place at the National Film Archive of Japan in Tokyo from 18 to 26 September 2026. Selected PFF Award films are also available online through 31 October.
