Masanobu Hiraoka

Masanobu Hiraoka is a Japanese animator and animation director from Kyoto, known for hand-drawn, frame-by-frame 2D animation built on metamorphosis and fluid motion. He graduated from Digital Hollywood University in Tokyo, began working as a freelance animator in 2010 and joined the Tokyo production company CAVIAR in 2013. His commercial work includes animation for Kirin Tanrei Green Label, PlayStation and Shiseido, the ending of the anime series Little Witch Academia and the opening titles of the HBO Max series Tokyo Vice; his teaser for Nissin Cup Noodle's "Aoharuka yo" campaign earned a 2018 ADC award. He has also collaborated internationally with artists including Battles, Flying Lotus, Stephanie Gilmore and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
