Zachary Zezima
Zachary Zezima is a Los Angeles-based animation director and documentary filmmaker originally from New York. He received a BFA in Illustration from Parsons School of Design in 2009 and an MFA in Experimental Animation from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in 2016. He began as an illustrator, with work published in The New York Times, moved into animation in 2014 with the short films Cruising and It's a Date, and later directed animation for an episode of the FX/Hulu docuseries Pride (2021) and the documentary The Inevitable Return (2025). He is a Professor of Animation in the Department of Art at California State University, Los Angeles.
