IFFR 2024 Announces Tiger Short Competition Winners

The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) in 2024 has announced the winners of its Tiger Short Competition. This year, the competition featured 21 titles from around the world, showcasing a diverse range of storytelling and cinematic innovation.

The winners of the Tiger Short Awards were "Crazy Lotus" from Thailand by Naween Noppakun, "Few Can See" from Ireland by Frank Sweeney, and "Workers’ Wings" from Kosovo by Ilir Hasanaj. Each film received an equal prize of €5,000, highlighting the festival's commitment to supporting and recognizing short film excellence globally.

Additionally, "I Would Rather Be a Stone" from Croatia, directed by Ana Hušman, was selected to compete for the next European Short Film Award. This nomination places the film within a prestigious context of short films across Europe, underscoring its quality and the impact of its storytelling.

The KNF Award, chosen by a jury from the Circle of Dutch Film Journalists, was awarded to "Daphne was a torso ending in leaves," a co-production between Italy and Greece by Catriona Gallagher.
