According to the selection committee members Daniel Šuljić, Matea Kovač, and Laura Martinović, La Poudrière has long established a strong reputation through its innovative art films. This year, the school impressed once again with a range of films that highlighted a variety of animation techniques and mature thematic explorations. The committee's decision reflects their deep respect for La Poudrière's approach to nurturing talent, focusing on diversity, equality, and inclusivity in its curriculum.

The school offers a comprehensive educational experience that empowers students to explore their creative potential. By promoting individuality and diverse artistic expressions, La Poudrière prepares its students to excel both in artistic and commercial aspects of animation. The films produced by the school, noted for their emotional depth and universal appeal, often explore sociocultural themes using a blend of traditional and innovative animation techniques.

Highlighting the school’s achievements, two notable films from La Poudrière will be featured in the Student Film Competition at Animafest Zagreb 2024: "See You, Champion!" directed by Alexis Mouron and "Love and Pretence" directed by Alonso Lorca. Additionally, a special program will showcase a retrospective of the best works by the school’s students.

The Best Animation School Award will be formally presented to Annick Teninge, the director of La Poudrière, during the official opening ceremony of the festival. This accolade not only celebrates the school's consistent excellence but also its significant impact on the global animation landscape.
