Animafest Zagreb

Animafest Zagreb, officially the World Festival of Animated Film, is an international animation festival held in Zagreb, Croatia. Established in 1972 and rooted in the legacy of the Zagreb School of Animation, it is recognised as the second-oldest festival in the world devoted entirely to animated film. The festival presents animation in a broad range of forms, from author-driven short and feature films to student works, retrospectives, lectures, exhibitions and professional programmes. The current edition is the 36th and runs from 8 to 13 June 2026, with programmes including Grand Competition sections, the Student Film Competition, the Croatian Film Competition and the Animafest Scanner symposium.
