Cannes 2024 Jury Announced: Global Icons to Decide on Palme d’Or

The 77th Festival de Cannes has announced a prestigious panel of jury members for its 2024 edition, chaired by American director Greta Gerwig. This diverse group includes notable figures from various corners of the global film industry, tasked with selecting the Palme d’Or winner from 22 competing films.
Greta Gerwig, the jury's president, is celebrated for her influential films, including the recent blockbuster "Barbie," which grossed over a billion dollars. Her directorial prowess has earned her critical acclaim and several Oscar nominations, establishing her as a formidable figure in both American and international cinema.
Joining her on the panel are Ebru Ceylan from Turkey, known for her deep involvement in films like "Winter Sleep," which won the Palme d'Or in 2014; Lily Gladstone, a Native American actress acclaimed for her performance in "Killers of the Flower Moon"; and Eva Green from France, a versatile actress known for her roles in high-profile films like "Casino Royale."
Other jury members include Nadine Labaki, a Lebanese director known for her compelling film "Capernaum"; Juan Antonio Bayona, a Spanish director whose films have gained international recognition; Pierfrancesco Favino, an Italian actor celebrated for his performances in both European and American films; Kore-eda Hirokazu from Japan, a previous Palme d’Or winner with "Shoplifters"; and Omar Sy, a French actor and producer recognized for his César-winning role in "The Intouchables."
The jury's verdict will be eagerly awaited by the international film community, with the winners set to be announced at the festival's closing ceremony on May 25, 2024.
