The Cannes Film Festival presents international feature and short films at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, France. Its history begins with the first completed edition in 1946. The Official Selection combines the Palme d’Or competition with Un Certain Regard, non-competitive premieres and Cannes Classics, devoted to restored films and cinema history. La Cinef showcases work from film schools, while the Caméra d’Or recognises a first feature across the Official Selection and the independent Directors’ Fortnight and Critics’ Week. The Marché du Film provides a professional forum alongside the screenings. The 80th edition dates are 11–22 May 2027.
