The 78th Festival de Cannes, scheduled for May 13 to 24, 2025, in Cannes, France, has commenced its call for film submissions. Filmmakers are invited to submit their works for consideration in various categories, each with specific deadlines and requirements.

Submission Categories and Deadlines:

• La Cinef Selection: Dedicated to short and mid-length films from film schools, the submission deadline is February 25, 2025. This category aims to highlight emerging talent from educational institutions.
• Short Films in Competition: Open to short films, with a submission deadline of March 3, 2025. Selected films will compete for the Short Film Palme d'Or.
• Feature Films for the Official Selection: Feature-length films must be submitted by March 14, 2025. These films may be considered for various sections, including In Competition, Out of Competition, and Un Certain Regard.

Submission Process:

All submissions are to be made online through the Festival de Cannes' MY ACCOUNT portal. Filmmakers are advised to thoroughly review the Preselection Conditions and Regulations pertinent to their category before submitting.

Additional Sections:

• Cannes Classics: This section showcases restored classic films and documentaries about cinema. Submissions will open in February 2025. Interested parties should consult the submission conditions in advance.
• Caméra d’Or: This prestigious award is presented to the best first feature film across all official and parallel selections, including Competition, Out of Competition, Un Certain Regard, Directors' Fortnight, and Critics' Week. It is not a separate submission category; all eligible first films are considered automatically.
• Short Film Corner | Rendez-vous Industry: A professional forum distinct from the competition, exclusively reserved for short films. Submission requires a fee and is conducted online via the Cinéma de Demain site.
• Marché du Film: Within the framework of the Marché du Film, producers and sellers can organize paid screenings of their films.
