A luminous crush of still life silhouettes, abstract shapes and complex, interlocking patterns, BottleNeck renovates the commonplace objects of a classical painting genre in a modern setting. This is the third film in Priestley’s abstract trilogy that explores patterning, with Eye Liner (2011) and Split Ends (2013). Bottle Neck was inspired by a trip to the Seattle Art Museum to see an exhibit of exquisite still life paintings.
